Check out Team Rosters on Your Phone

by nixforsix on August 19, 2010

in College Football,tailgating guide

We’ve added a new page that has Numerical & Alphabetical Rosters for every team in the SEC. I went through each school’s media guide and trimmed it down to just the roster. They are in the .pdf format and can either be downloaded and printed, or loaded on your phone for when you’re tailgating or inside the stadium. The link for the rosters will stay in the right hand column of every page on the site. If this is something people like, we’ll do it for the other conferences as well.

Vintage Style Logo Shirts

in tailgating attire

TailgateClothing.com has an interesting yet spotty collection of vintage looking distressed t-shirts with college logos on them. The included schools at this point are Arkansas, Arizona, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, USC, UCLA, Virginia, and Yale.

Hogville.net has a long discussion on the evolution of tailgating for Arkansas games in Fayetteville (vs. tailgating in Little Rock as well). A lot of it is discussion amongst Razorback fans, but it should also serve as a guide for visiting fans. All of the big parking lots for tailgating are listed as well as other lawns and sections of campus.

I’ve personally tailgated in Fayetteville once. To the best of my memory we tailgated in the front yard of someone’s house that was charging around $10 on S. Razorback Rd. The yard held at least 30 cars and it made for a good experience. From there we were able to walk around the stadium and campus and back to our car a few times.

I would agree with several of the posters though. It seems the basic layout of buildings and hilly terrain probably deter a lot of the tailgating close to the stadium. Any time you don’t have a central area where there is a mass of people tailgating, it seems like a smaller overall participation. I feel like Knoxville has similar problems with campus layout but the big parking deck outside and the river balance it out.
