The following Auburn tailgate was submitted to us by reader Ben Bone:
We have been tailgating in the amphitheater area for a very long time as well. I have met some of the best people in my life in and around Auburn games in the fall. We have a kick ass time every week there is a game. We have a decent set up that centers around a custom made grill trailer. It was made and designed by my good friend Layne Hudson. Here are some of the details:
Made from a 1972 K5 Blazer frame
Grill itself is 5 feet in diameter and was a old dairy kettle.
The rear coolers were a old salad bar.
It has a smoker box, keg with water —>sink, propane burner, stainless cup holders, cutting board and lots of storage up top.
New additions include ipod boat radio, bazzoka 10″ 200 watt subwoofer and 2 8″ bazzoka wakeboard speakers.
Neon light tube underneath that can strobe, flash or blink to the bass
Flag holders on top
Directv mount, new wheels and tires (match my truck BFG AT’s)Our tailgate also has a port-a-cool, 20×20 tent, 32″ lcd tv, directv, chairs, tables, lots of food…
I’m not huge on amplification at a tailgate, but the dairy kettle grill, wings, and location on campus are ideal.
