Crazy Tailgating Pants, Skirts, and more

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 Posted in tailgating attire | 2 Comments »

Whether you spotted them on John Daly, the Norwegian Curling team, around campus on gameday, or at the links…. you’ve probably seen Loudmouth Pants before. Thanks to South Bend Seven for helping us put a brand name with these ridiculous pants. I’ve noticed a trend towards the more outrageous in tailgating pants lately and these certainly fit the bill. In addition to the pants, Loudmouth also has coats for the guys and skirts and short shorts for the ladies. The color combinations cover the tailgating needs for many major programs like Florida, Texas, Ohio State, LSU, and North Carolina. And for the Bama fans out there they have houndstooth ties, coats, pants, shorts, skirts, and even divot tools. To see if they have your school’s colors check out the site.

New Tailgating Show on TLC

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 Posted in grilling, tailgating recipes | No Comments »

I was able to view an advanced screening of TLC’s new show “Tailgate Takedown”. It’s your basic cooking challenge but set at actual college football games. Three teams of fans are chosen and allowed to make the tailgating food of their choice. The premiere featured three USC cooking teams competing before the USC/UCLA game. In this episode only USC fans were selected and the menu takes on a latin flair. The show is hosted by Joe Cahn who you may have seen online before since he’s proclaimed himself the “Commissioner of Tailgating”. While the teams are preparing their meals, Joe walks around and interviews other fans to feature the campus atmosphere. This is a great idea and I’m always willing to check out other campuses and traditions. Unfortunately, Joe might be the corniest guy in America. I’d have trouble not throwing a fork in his eye if he ever tailgated with me all day.

I’ve only watched a handful of cooking challenge/reality shows, but I think Tailgate Takedown holds up inspite of Joe. It personally gives me a little something to relate to and I’d imagine as the series moves on you’ll get some interesting ideas for expanding your tailgating menu. The show premieres tonight (1/6/2010) on TLC at 10pm Eastern with the USC/UCLA episode. Then at 10:30 for the SEC Championship episode from the Georgia Dome featuring two Alabama cooking teams and one Florida team. The shows repeat at 1am.

Tebone Me, Just Not in the End Zone

Not to be outdone by the Teblows girl, a Florida tailgatress has found a way to display her prudish loyalty for the Florida QB. I was familiar with his missionary work, but not to this extent.

After a laborious winter of conditioning we here at Drunken Tailgate are ready to commence with spring practice. We intend to use actual spring practice, baseball games, steeplechases, weddings, and baptisms as preparations for our holy football season ahead.

White Guy Dance Off: Florida vs. Penn State

I especially like the guy who’s randomly chugging Jim Beam from the bottle.

The old guy doing the mosh pit/upside down beer chug at the end is kinda impressive. I don’t know how you even talk someone into that.
