Crazy Tailgating Pants, Skirts, and more

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 Posted in tailgating attire | 2 Comments »

Whether you spotted them on John Daly, the Norwegian Curling team, around campus on gameday, or at the links…. you’ve probably seen Loudmouth Pants before. Thanks to South Bend Seven for helping us put a brand name with these ridiculous pants. I’ve noticed a trend towards the more outrageous in tailgating pants lately and these certainly fit the bill. In addition to the pants, Loudmouth also has coats for the guys and skirts and short shorts for the ladies. The color combinations cover the tailgating needs for many major programs like Florida, Texas, Ohio State, LSU, and North Carolina. And for the Bama fans out there they have houndstooth ties, coats, pants, shorts, skirts, and even divot tools. To see if they have your school’s colors check out the site.

Tailgating in Pajamas

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 Posted in tailgating attire | 2 Comments »

This Oregon fan has achieved total comfort by tailgating in hooded pajamas. To me, this raises a couple of questions:

1) Do you think he sleeps in these, rolls out of bed in the morning, pours a drink, and heads straight to the tailgate?

2) How do you go to the bathroom?

It’s Never Too Early to Tailgate

Sunday, November 8th, 2009 Posted in tailgating attire | No Comments »

Though Iowa probably lives up to this motto, these shirts are actually made for a large number of schools. So I decided to search around a little and figure out the most ridiculous school that prints this shirt. I feel confident that I have found the winner.

Ted Bundy was a Husky

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 Posted in tailgating attire | No Comments »

I haven’t found the shirt pictured below for sale on the internet. However, you can get what I believe is a more accurately spelled Ted Bundy was a Husky Shirt from Fighting Duck Tees. If you’re not into referencing serial killers you could probably just go with the Pete Carroll likes fish sticks shirt.

Tru Colors: Tailgating Dresses and Tops

Friday, September 25th, 2009 Posted in tailgating attire | 1 Comment »

I’m sure the average tailgatress struggles with picking out 6-8 different outfits to wear during fall Saturdays. And female fans of certain schools with awful colors have it worse than others (I’m looking at you Oregon). Beyond the properly worn jersey, girls are pretty much left with the task of finding a sundress featuring school colors or mixing and matching from JCrew. Having faced this task, LSU Grads Amy Chenevert and Gretchen Gilich started Tru Colors Apparel. Their line of tailgating dresses and tops pretty much covers every SEC school. They also have retailers located in the college football hotbeds of the South.

Belt Buckle Bottle Openers with Collegiate Logos

Sunday, August 30th, 2009 Posted in drinking, gear, tailgating attire | 2 Comments »

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that belt buckles with bottle openers and college logos are a cool idea in theory only. There are lots of college football fans who wear belt buckles. A large percentage of those belt buckled fans also drink beer. But the chances that those people will have to quote Adam Sandler at some point in the day are around 80%.

Collegiate Snuggies are Coming and they are Hideous

Monday, May 4th, 2009 Posted in tailgating attire | 1 Comment »

Oh the horror. So they finally get around to releasing Snuggies with college logos on them, which theoretically should be a huge success. But they took an “article of clothing” that any normal person would be timid about wearing in public, and made it more ghastly. Did they just hire the same designers who create the college hats and t-shirts that you find at gas stations and Wal Mart? There appear to be at least 4 different logos on each of those. Why wouldn’t you just put one gigantic logo on it? People already make blankets like this, all you had to do was add sleeves. But I guess it’s not all bad news. For those of you out there that already have shirts like this to wear in September you now have a way to keep warm in November without sacrificing your trademark style.

Tailgating Attire: The Tressel T

Monday, September 1st, 2008 Posted in tailgating attire | No Comments »

I get the feeling that rocking a sweater, albeit a vest, in August is not the most comfortable attire for tailgating. Have no fear though Buckeye fans. You can now sport a faux sweater vest t-shirt in a show of support for Jim Tressel.
